The SRM Arts & Science College was launched in the year 1993 - 94. The college offers a variety of programmes that provide enormous opportunities for the qualifying graduates to work in electronic industry, Biotechnical, Biochemical and Microbiological laboratories, hotels, institutions, commercial enterprises and with the government.

Being a unit of the large family of SRM Colleges, The Arts & Science College provides opportunities for the students to benefit substantially from interaction with their peers studying in different professional streams in Engineering, Technology, Medical Sciences and Hotel Management.

Students are actively encouraged to go beyond the purview of their university syllabi and facilities are offered to extensively widen their intellectual horizons. As a result, graduates from this college are a distinct notch higher than their counterparts from their colleges.

Other Details

A foundation course in English with either Tamil, Hindi or French is conducted. This course strengthens their linguistic foundations. The students may opt for an Application-oriented subjected related to the main subject in the third year. The available

options are announced at the time of admission. Students are encouraged to developed their physical as well as other attributes such as leadership and discipline through NCC, NSS or NSC (Sports and Games)

Examinations

The college has adopted the Non-semester pattern. Hence University exams would be conducted at the end of each academic year in March / April. Examinations for M.Sc. Computer Science, MCA & MBA will be conducted in November and May as the semester pattern is followed.
